Hi everyone and welcome to the New Year.
The Australian Gov
ernment is providing support to Greening Australia to facilitate biodiversity restoration workshops across the country. These workshops will focus on establishing biodiverse plantings throughout the landscape, as well as providing communities with the most up to date methods for reintroducing and managing biodiversity.
Importantly, the workshops will help maximise the outcomes of existing and new natural resource management and environmental programs such as the Clean Energy Future’s Biodiversity Fund. For more information about workshop content, dates and locations click here.

Greening Australia is hosting what promises to be an excellent event on the 19th of May at the CSIRO Discovery Centre, in Canberra. “What Farmers Need” is an opportunity for NSW and ACT farmers, extension workers, policy makers and researchers to come together to discuss NRM information and support needs. Eight farmers with different lifestyles and experiences will showcase their personal experiences with natural resource management in relation to their farming business.
The two major questions being asked are:
What motivates landholders to undertake NRM work?
What resources / information do they think they need to help them continue this work (or begin it in the first place)?
Following each presentation will be an extended discussion time, and you as the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and put forward your views in relation to these questions. These discussions will be recorded and compiled for distribution so please bring along your ideas! For more information see the flyer, or contact Lori Gould Ph 0439 030 058 or 02 6253 3035- places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Fifty five members of the Tzu Chi Foundation travelled to Boorowa for the weekend of 10 and 11 April to plant 2700 native trees, shrubs and grasses along the Boorowa River. The event was held as part of the Boorowa River Recovery project that has rehabilitated 80kms of waterways on 70 properties in the Boorowa Catchment. Lori Gould, who manages the Boorowa River Recovery project said “the weekend was a great success. Tzu Chi volunteers, Landcare volunteers, Lachlan Catchment Management staff, Greening Australia staff and landholders all came together to help improve the health of the Boorowa River”.
